🌍🧑🔬 Saturday, February 11, will be celebrated the International Day of Women and Girls in Science!

The opportunity for us to salute the work of our 👩 of science: Maëva, Marion, Nakou & Tiffany.

On March 14, 2011, the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women adopted the conclusions of a report on women’s and girls’ access to and participation in education, training, science and technology, and on promoting equal access to employment.

Some two years later, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution on science, technology and innovation for development, recognizing “that empowering women of all ages to fully and equally access and participate in science, technology and innovation is imperative for gender equality and women’s empowerment.”

To promote “full and equal” access and participation of women and girls in science, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution making February 11 the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. The main objective of this day is to recall the essential role they play every day, within the scientific community.
